Double-cropping soybeans after wheat is a popular rotation in Southern Illinois and along the Ohio River. Growers can harvest two crops and potentially earn more revenue per acre than with a single crop like corn. However, there are challenges with both crops that can reduce the yield possibilities and economic prospects of this rotation.
If you grow wheat and double-crop soybeans afterwards and want to learn how to improve the yield and profitability of the rotation, attend the Fourth Annual Double-Crop Conference in Mt. Vernon on Thursday, January 31. The conference will bring together growers and industry to talk about the challenges faced when double-cropping and the solutions available.
For the second year, the Illinois Wheat Association (IWA) is combining its winter wheat forum with the Illinois Soybean Association’s double-crop conference into one event.
The conference will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Mt. Vernon (formerly the Holiday Inn Conference Center) in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. We encourage attendees to come early, network and visit the sponsor displays. The event will begin promptly at 9:00 am. The Illinois Wheat Association will hold their Annual Meeting at 3:30 pm. Lunch and breaks are included. Click here to view the agenda.
Register below, or call 309-557-3619. A registration fee of $25 for members and $40 for non-members will be collected at the event to cover costs.
