Venture Internships Application
Welcome to Venture Internships!
Thanks for applying to New International's Venture Internship Program! Before you get started, the questions that follow are not written with the intention to exclude anyone but are to help us know the applicant more fully.
Note: this application will ask you to note any health conditions that may prohibit you from serving on the field. After being accepted you will be asked to fill out a brief medical history. If you note things there that were not noted here, our team reserves the right to reconsider your acceptance to the program.
Please be aware that Venture Internships do require you to raise your own support but we will provide resources and encouragement to help you do so.
This application consists of a personal section, education and work experience section, and a short-essay section. This should take you approximately 30 minutes to complete. You may type "N/A" for any required fields that do not apply to you.
Upon receiving your application, our team will run a background check (this is a standard process and results alone are not grounds for rejection from the program) and we will contact your references. You will be prompted to review and sign a waiver as a part of this application and then receive an email detailing how to safely provide our team with your SSN so we can run the background check.
After we receive the background check and references, we will contact you to schedule a Skype/video chat interview, which is the next step in your application process.
If you have questions at anytime, please contact our Mobilization Department via mobilization@newinternational.org or (239)202-2271.

Cooperation Covenant:
In order to be considered for a Venture Internship, you will need to read, understand, and agree to abide by the following cooperation covenant. We have developed this covenant for the well-being of you, your team, and the on-field hosts you will be serving with. If you have any questions, there will be time to discuss them during your interview and/or you can email mobilization@newinternational.org
Devotions exist to reinforce Christian discipleship and fellowship. Devotions build community through inspiring and challenging teams in their faith, display both the relevance of the Gospel and it’s diversity, and seek to bring life to the Word of God through worship and discussion. Doing devotions as a team displays unity as the body of Christ and allows Christ to speak through us to one another.
I agree
I have questions!
New International desires to provide resources and curriculum producing a diverse, synergetic community for personal and interpersonal growth and spiritual maturity in Christ. Each project is unique as to whether or not there will be required reading.
I agree
I have questions!
Team leaders are responsible for coordinating and implementing activities that encourage team members to learn about the new culture, explore their interests, express their gifts and leadership abilities, formulate questions and pursue answers, and learn to fellowship with our brothers and sisters globally. They encourage participants to know and love God, their neighbors, and themselves. Additionally team leaders representing New International have the ability and authority to carry out consequences appropriate to situations where disciplinary action may be necessary.
I agree
I have questions!
New International exists to proclaim Christ and make disciples globally. It is crucial, therefore, that participant’s attitudes and behaviors reflect the character of Jesus Christ at all times. By their voluntary membership in this Christian community, participants assume responsibility to abide by all core values of New International, as well as to use personal discretion involving any activities which may be morally or spiritually destructive or reflect poorly on the team, New International or host missionaries. In particular, New International expects participants to refrain from being under the influence of intoxicants, using or possessing illegal drugs, and inappropriate sexual behavior, including any conduct of sexual harassment. All participants represent Christ and New International wherever they are, and are expected to exhibit a distinctive Christian lifestyle in all aspects. They must submit themselves to accountability within the Body of Christ, and take personal responsibility for their actions. Participants have an obligation to confront known sin and breaches of integrity in the team when it is appropriate to do so. It is expected that confrontation of this nature be expressed in love, with the purpose of redeeming and restoring the individual. The process (as can be found in Matthew 18:5-19) always attempts to confront misconduct in an educative posture that the participant might learn from the experience, respond to correction, and be reconciled to the community whenever possible.
I agree
I have questions!

I agree
I have questions!
It is the policy of New International to maintain a serving and learning environment free from the sexual harassment of participants. Any behavior determined to constitute sexual harassment will be viewed as neither complimentary nor humorous, and will be subject to disciplinary action. Sexual harassment may include: a. Unwanted sexual advances, b. Offering employment benefits in exchange for sexual favors; employment reprisals for refusing sexual conduct, c. Visual conduct such as sexual gestures and/or the display of sexually suggestive or offensive objects, including accessing pornographic websites while on a New International project, d. Verbal conduct such as making or using derogatory comments, slurs or jokes; verbal sexual advances, innuendo or propositions; degrading words or actions; suggestive or obscene letters, emails, notes or invitations, e. Physical conduct such as touching, rubbing, impeding movement or assault. New International recognizes that the perception of sexual harassment behavior is often subjective and the circumstances surrounding the conduct, as well as it’s pattern, frequency and severity need to be considered in assessing the behavior. Sexual harassment may be verbal, graphic, written or physical in nature, each of which may be grounds for disciplinary action.
I agree
I have questions!
Living in a Christian community requires members to provide both support and accountability to one another. Initiating accountability is often uncomfortable and risks interpersonal conflict between the respective parties. NI will not tolerate retaliation against those who adhere to seeing accountability implemented when necessary. Retaliation can manifest in many ways, including but not limited to: physical assault, verbal abuse, social ostracizing and other forms of offense and humiliation.
I agree
I have questions!
Consequences for breaches of conduct codes are case by case and are at the discretion of the team leader. However, if you violate this covenant in any way, New International has the right to remove you from the project.
I agree
I have questions!
I acknowledge that I have read and understood these covenant items. Furthermore, I agree to adhere to this covenant as set forth by New International and I understand that a breach of the covenant may result in the termination of my presence/participation in the internship.

New International Internship Expectations
In order to be considered for a Venture Internship, you will need to read, understand, and agree to abide by the following expectations. We have developed these expectations as a result of past events for the well-being of you, your team, and the on-field hosts you will be serving with. If you have any questions, there will be time to discuss them during your interview and/or you can email mobilization@newinternational.org
Completed Project Application and $60 application fee is required for participants to be eligible for the Project. The various materials requested provides NI with necessary information when sending participants abroad. This includes personal/contact info, education/work experience, medical form, consent form, cooperation covenant, etc.
I agree
I have questions
Respect for New International’s decision to deny any applicant. The Team’s well-being is a priority. Decisions are based upon factors or issues concerning prior existing circumstances that may impact: safety of the team, international travel, entry into foreign countries, or risk of jeopardizing the ministry on-field.
I agree
I have questions
Passports are mandatory for international projects; participants should apply for a passport as soon as possible if they do not possess one, or update it if expiring within six months of the stay. It’s beneficial for all parties involved to allow a few months for a passport to process and be approved. If complications or errors are made in processing, having extra time alleviates the stress of not being able to participate in the project. If unexpected circumstances require a lengthier time in country, a valid passport beyond 6 months of your stay would give the freedom to do so.
I agree
I have questions
Deadlines are met (application, airfare, total project costs). By adhering to established deadlines, participants will be better prepared in sufficient time prior to departure. We can also minimize the increase in project expenses. For example, the sooner airfare is purchased, the lower risk in escalating prices as the departure date draws nearer.
I agree
I have questions
Participant reading assignments will be completed on time prior to departure. Literary resources are an invaluable tool in preparing for the field; the more participants are equipped, the better understanding they will have of the culture, ministry, and what God is doing around the world.
I agree
I have questions
Participants are responsible for 100% of their project’s budget, and will personally provide the remaining balance if support raising does not fulfill all expenses, or supporter donations are voided; participants will not take part in the project if they fail to meet 100% of necessary project funds. Participants who apply for and pursue a New International project are willingly investing their time and resources. It is ultimately the participant’s responsibility to provide for their expenses. New International will help participants track support raising through a website resource.
I agree
I have questions
Airfare is purchased at cost; participants are responsible for any increase above the projected airfare cost. New International can only predict what airfare may cost four to six months away when a budget is formed; local/national events can influence travel expenses into specific areas and countries.
I agree
I have questions
Team meeting with New International for pre-field orientation via video chat(s) or in person. Preparing the participant for serving their host, the nationals, the ministry, and their own team is a priority. Sending individuals with parameters for attitude, perspective, interaction, and expectations for the field is a healthy practice for all parties involved.
I agree
I have questions
Participants are respectful and compliant/cooperative with instructions or decisions made by New International staff, the team leader, or host missionary. New International holds confidence in the individuals who facilitate or serve in a leadership role for the project, and support their judgment for the well-being of the participant. Hosts understand the big picture regarding what is best for the ministry on field. Therefore, please honor their authority throughout the project.
I agree
I have questions
Participant Evaluation completed upon returning from project. Your feedback is essential for improving our ministry of connecting and mobilizing the Church to ministries around the world. Knowing what was valuable/ helpful, how we could have prepared you better personally, spiritually, or for the ministry, will benefit future teams.
